  • National Mobilization to End the War in IraqNationwide March for Peace (Oct. 27): 
    Build Bridges Not Bombs
    As a part of the National Mobilization to End the War in Iraq, join a plethora of social justice groups from Idaho, Montana, Colorado, and Utah who will unite in Salt Lake City on Oct. 27 and join thousands of others marching for peace in cities around the United States: Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Seattle.Join hundreds of others coming in from Idaoh, Montana, Colorado and the thousands of others marching for peace in cities around the United States

    Where: Starts at Utah State Capital, then marches down the hill to Washington Square

    When:  11am - 3pm:

    • 11am rally at UT State Capital

    • 12pm march to Washington Square

    • 1pm rally at City County Building at Washington Square


    -  The event will be filled with Music, Poetry, and speakers, including:

      • Iraq war veteran

      • SLC Mayor Rocky Anderson

      • Idaho Peace Coalition

      • Mormons for Equality and Social Justice

      • Military Families Speak Out 

  • Save Darfur Candlelight Vigil (Nov. 4):
    Salt Lake Saves Darfur Homepage
    To remind China of its responsibilities, Dream for Darfur launched its own Olympic torch relay starting in Chad. The torch will tour the world, including the U.S., until it reaches China in December.  The torch will pass through Salt Lake City on November 4, 2007, in a highly symbolic visit which will be commemorated with a candlelight vigil hosted by Salt Lake Saves Darfur at the Gallivan Olympic Center. Please join us -- listen to local luminaries, light a candle, and take a stand against genocide.

  • Salt Lake Runs for Darfur - Olympic Torch Relay
    - To draw attention to the world to the human atrocity ongoing in Darfur, Sudan and to China's role in fueling it, come run with Save Darfur and local and national celebrities carrying the Olympic flame.

  • Monthly Letter Writing / Community Building Session
    - DATE CHANGE: now on the 2nd Monday of each month
    - Will begin again March 2007 at the Salt Lake Roasting Company (320 East 400 South).

    Objective: to take action through writing letters on behalf of prisoners of conscious.
    - When space allows, we meet on first floor - look for the Amnesty International USA logo (see above right) on the table.
